Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Jamaica. I later came to the United Sates in February 2012.
How did you get the idea for Sparks Fly?
My idea for Sparks Fly came to me one night as I was walking home from work. I believe I heard something that troubled me to a point where I was deep in thought about destiny vs. choices. In my mind, I saw an image of an invisible wall separating two girls. They aren't able to see each other but they stood face to face, and both were trying to go the opposite direction. One person wanted to get in, and the other wanted to get out, but their destinies got crossed by the choices that they made. Sparks Fly was created around this idea of what if? It explores the concept of destiny vs. choices.
How do you choose a genre?
The genre I write has a lot to do with what I read. I read a lot of YA fantasy and dystopian; so I will be writing those genres. I do read other genres, and if I read something that's incredibly good, it will encourage me to write something like that. So I expect the genres that I write to increase over time.
Who is publishing your book?
If you look at the publisher for my book, you will see the name Sea Dragon Press. Sea Dragon Press is a company created by me. My book is technically being self-published However I intend on growing this business and publish other people's work in the future. If all my plans go well. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
what are your favorite books?
I the Hunger Games series, Divergent series, Red Queen, I like most dystopian novels.
Favorite Genres?
I Love dystopian novels clearly. Most YA books, and fantasy, anything with magic.
